JA’s International Fashion Models
The recruitment of world class models is a niche sector in Jamaica that has seen tremendous growth over the past twenty years. Pulse Models Ltd. is arguably the main driver of this development. Two models that started in Jamaica and have now hit the international catwalks of fashion venues in Europe and elsewhere are Tami Williams and Francine James.
Tami Williams has been on the covers of Vogue and Elle magazines. She was the first Caribbean model to be selected for Calvin Klein, as the face for their 2015 Autumn Collection campaign. This year Tami will appear in Dolce & Gabanna’s Alta Moda showcase for Spring Summer 2016. Through her agent Saint International, Tami has been selected for several assignments with leading fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel, Valentino and Giorgio Armani's Armani Prive.
Francine James ended last year on a high, shooting this February issue of Elle magazine in Cape Town, South Africa. Her international career started at the Paris shows in February 2015. During the year Francine undertook assignments for several clients, including H&M, Gucci, Westfield, 1981, ESPRIT, John Lewis, Vlisco, Ahlens, LNDR, Todd Lyn, Vanessa Steward, Marios Schwab, Faith connection, CompÙnere, and Olympia Letan. All these assignments meant her doing a whirlwind tour of Europe working for clients in Paris, London, Milan, Stockholm, and Amsterdam.
